The vision of the Assembly is to build community confidence among its people and provide sustainable and planned growth, both socially and economically.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Assembly exist to improve the socio-economic well-being of the people in the municipality through provision of quality services in collaboration with the private sector to facilitate job creation, increase productivity, access to basic social services, such as health care, education, portable water supply, security from crime and violence and the ability of the people to participate in decisions that affect their lives.


Population size, structure and composition
The population of Nkoranza South Municipality, according to the 2010 Population and Housing Census, is 100,929 representing 4.4 percent of the region’s total population of 2,310,983. Males constitute 49.6 percent and females represent 50.4 percent. More than half (52.9%) of the population in the Municipality live in rural areas. The Municipality has a sex ratio of 98.4 and a youthful (41.4 percent of the population aged less than 15 years) population depicting a broad base population pyramid which tapers off with a small number of elderly persons (5.7 percent of the population is aged 60 years and above). The total age dependency ratio for the Municipality is 83.8 with higher (86.1) male dependency ratio than females (81.5).

Physical Characteristics
1.2.1 Location and Size
The Nkoranza South Municipality lies within longitudes 1º10″W and 1º55″W and latitudes 7º20″N and 7º55″N. It covers a total land area of 923 square kilometres. It shares boundaries with the Nkoranza North District to the North, the Techiman Municipality to the West (both in the Brong Ahafo Region), the Ejura-Sekyedumase and the Offinso North Districts, both in the Ashanti Region to the South–East and to the South respectively
