he Bono East Regional Coordinating Council is putting in place measures to collaborate with the education directorate and the forestry commission to institute awards scheme that will ensure *green schools* across the the region. This will motivate teachers and Pupils/Students to inculcate the habit of planting and nurturing of trees. This, I made known to the stakeholders at the durbar at Kintampo to observe the regional commemoration Green Ghana Day at the Kintampo Waterfalls on Friday, June 7, 2024.
The durbar which was chaired by Nana Effah Guakro, chief of Kyeremankoma and Kronkonhene of Nkoranza Traditional Area and was witnessed by the President of Mo Traditional Council, Nana Kwaku Danquah and the heads of the various decentralise departments in the region. Our region targeted 110,000 trees as against the 10 million national target.
Our region has made it a project to use the occasion to green the ecotourism sites. So far, we have visited Tano river in Techiman Municipality, Buoyem Bat Colony in Techiman North, Manso-Nipahiamoa Natural pool waterfalls in Nkoranza North District and Kintampo Waterfalls in the Kintampo Municipality.
