The official commissioning of Nkoranza New Market on the Monday 11th November 2024 at 10 am. The key features of the project set to be commissioned under the phase 1 include: 50 lockable stores, 100 open stores, 1 police post, 1 health post and a three-unit classroom block that will serve as a crèche.
On the Thursday, October 2023, the formal Local Government Minister initiated the construction of this Ultra-Modern Market facility for Nkoranza Municipal
The commissioning of the ceremony brought together the key stakeholders including Local government Minister, the Parliamentary Candidate of the NPP, Mrs. Harriet K. Oppong, Municipal Chief Executive, Presiding Member, Nananom, Clergy, the Municipal Chief Imam, the Police Commander, Fire Service Commander, Ambulance Commander, Health Director and other invited Dignitaries, Assemble Members and staffs of the Nkoranza South Municipal Assemble. The chairman of the occasion commended the assembly for a good work done and expressed their profound gratitude to the government for the kind gesture.
The MCE noted that, the new market would help boost the local economy in the and around Nkoranza and urged the residents to patronize the market for in sustainability. The MCE assured that, they would take proper care of the facility to ensure its longevity.
The Parliamentary Candidate for the NPP on her part also said, the new market would enable the traders to undertake their day to day economic activities to improve their lives and also be able take care of their families. She said the construction has become necessary because of the deplorable nature of the old market and to provide serene environment for trading activities in the community.
