The Assembly Members of the Nkoranza South Municipality have on today, being Thursday, the 29th day of February, 2024 gave Dr. Augustine Kwasi Amoateng the Municipal Chief Executive nominee for the area a 100% confirmation. All the 39 assembly members endorsed the President’s nominee, Dr. Augustine Kwasi Amoateng by voting Yes following their dismissal of the incumbent MCE, Hon. Daniel Owuredu renomination.
Before the confirmation, three people were worn in as Government appointee to replace the people who have already resigned from their position. These people were Wiafe Simon, Ofori Adjei and Ernest Adjei Yiadom.
Dr. Augustine Kwasi Amoateng, who is a Lecturer in Sunyani Technical University and also a Senior house master was once the Researcher for the NPP Party in the Nkoranza South Municipality. Today’s exercise, which was supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC) and was presided by Hon. Daniel Appiah, the Presiding Member of the Nkoranza South Municipal Assembly, attracted traditional and religious leaders, politicians, family members and the public.
After receiving 100% endorsement, Dr. Augustine Kwasi Amoateng thanked the President for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work to realize his vision for the Nkoranza South Municipality. He also thanked the assembly members for their overwhelming support and called for unity from all stakeholders to speed up the development process in the area to transform the socio-economic lives of the people.
The newly appointed Nkoranza South Municipal Chief Executive also recounted his experiences as a Lecturer in the University and a Senior housemaster, the NPP Researcher for Nkoranza south municipal Assembly and other key positions, saying it would help him work with all manner of persons to bring the needed development to the area.
The Nkoranza South Municipal Magistrate sworn Dr. Augustine Kwasi Amoateng as the newly elected Municipal Chief Executive into office after following the due steps and processes.
The Bono East Regional Minister, Hon Kwasi Adu Gyan who was also present at the occasion appealed to the traditional leaders and Assembly members to continue to offer their support to MCE for massive development in the Municipality.
The Minister urged the confirmed nominee to respect the Assembly members and stakeholders for unity and development to prevail. Again, he assured the Assembly Members of capacity building program throughout the region.
