Thousands of people crowded into the street of Nkoranza, in the Bono East Region – Ghana, on Monday 23rd December, 2024, to see Nana Kwame Baffoe IV Installed as the new King (OMANHENE) in a colorful ceremony. The ceremony climax of the new king coronation took place behind the doors of the Nkoranza Palace in the Nkoranza South Municipal. The new king is 42 years old, and he is a professional Charted Accountant and a Lawyer. Following strict custom, the swearing in began at the morning when the golden stool which has rarely been shown in the public.
The King then took his place on the stool and completed the traditional rites. He later walked out into the palace grounds to the defending sound of drums and more than thousands of people surged round as the 20 Sub-chiefs (Odikro) of the Nkoranza stepped forward to swear their oaths of allegiance. The ceremony was attended by a representative of the Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the Amakom Hene, MCE of Nkoranza South Municipal Assembly – Dr. Akwasi Amoateng, the Bono East Regional Minister, and the MP for Nkoranza South Municipal Assembly, Hon. Assembly Members, and many other dignities within the country.
