MCE VISITS COMMUNITIES WITHIN NKORANZA SOUTH MUNICIPALITY TO DRIVE HERDSMEN AND THEIR CATTLE DESTROYING FOODSTUFFS AND FARMS IN THESE AREAS AWAY FROM OUR JURISDICTION.
In respect to the ongoing Farmer-Herdsmen conflict concerning the destruction caused by cattle in some communities within the municipality, the MCE Hon. Daniel Owuredu as part of his objectives to curb and solve the aforementioned canker in the Nkoranza South Municipality, today went to Kwafre, Alhajikrom and Sapatie together with some staffs of the municipal assembly and some military men from the Bono East region to drive the herdsmen and their cattle destroying foodstuffs and farms in these areas away from his jurisdiction.
The people within the municipality have always been complaining about how the cattle have destroyed their foodstuff to the extend that they can’t even go to their various farms to farm. The chiefs of the various communities have also expressed their displeasure on the ongoing farmer-herdsmen conflict.
Two of the herdsmen were arrested during the inspection and are currently in the Police Custody.
The MCE Hon. Daniel Owuredu assured the good people of Kwafre, Alhajikrom and Sapatie that, this is not going to be the last one but the Municipal Assembly will continue to give them the needed support to their lives and properties. The people thanked the MCE Hon. Daniel Owuredu for his continuous effort to make sure the ongoing Farmer-Herdsmen conflict is solved in order to bring peace to the people in the various communities
