The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Nkoranza South, Madam Diana Attaa-Kusiwaa has added her voice to the abuse of Tramadol by some youth in her municipality and Ghana at large.
The MCE, who was speaking at the fourth session of the Nkoranza South municipal assembly meeting, described as very alarming, the rate at which some youth in the area were abusing tramadol for varied reasons best known to them.
According to her, taking tramadol in a manner different from a prescription by a doctor can have negative and sometimes dangerous results. The effects include disturbed sleep patterns resulting in insomnia convulsions or seizures.
She thus seized the opportunity to call for all hands on deck to fight the menace.
In other development, Madam Diana Attaa-Kusiwaa also assured assembly members of the Assembly’s readiness to sensitize the citizenry about the need to pay revenue to help the assembly fund its numerous projects.
She concluded by assuring Assembly’s continuous support for, and readiness to partner with the Education Directorate anytime the need arises in order to ensure quality education delivery across the Municipality.
