The Nkoranza south municipal assembly led the Hon. Diana Attaa Kusiwaa Municipal Executive Chief of Assembly has officially held meeting at on Wednesday 1lth March, 2020 at Assembly Auditorium at exactly 9:30am.
The programme was themed “disbursement of second-quarter of 2019 Disability Fund”.
Some leaders of various department of the Assembly graced the meeting, Mr. Douglas Ibrahim Musa (head of social welfare and community development), a representative of Nkoranza Traditional Council, Mr. Bismark Kusi who is the chairman of Person with Disability, Mr. Danny Oduro Asante (Municipal Information Officer) and Staff of the Assembly all present.
According to Mr. Douglas Ibrahim Musa (head of social welfare and community development) the Assembly set up a committee, who are mandated to solicit for applications from people with special challenges to access the 3% of the disability fund. After various stages of evaluation applications, Thirty- seven applicants were to be supported by the Assembly. He further stated that, forty-Two thousand Ghana Cedis would be disbursed to the beneficiaries and each person shall receive minimum amount of one thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC1, 000.00).” We look out for persons with special needs, especially disable students, person with special health issues etc.” Mr. Douglas indicated that, the Assembly also support persons who wants to venture into business and farming related activities.
Hon. Diana Attaa presented the packages to the various beneficiaries and she seized the opportunity to advise them on how they should manage the money in order to support themselves and their families.
After the presentations, Chairman of persons with disability Mr. Bismark Kusi speaking on behalf of his members uttered words of appreciation to the Municipal Chief Executive for her kind gesture towards them and some beneficiaries also expressed their profound gratitude to the president of Ghana His Excellency, Nana Akuffo Addo and Municipal Chief Executive of Nkoranza South, Hon. Diana Ataa Kusiwaa and entire staff of the Assembly. The programme ended with a word of prayer.
