The Ghana National Household Registry, in collaboration with JMK, organized a five-day training session to equip enumerators with the necessary skills to conduct Leap enumeration and scale-up enumeration. The training focused on utilizing tablets for data collection and prepared participants for fieldwork. the training focused on introducing the Ghana National Household Registry (GNHR) and its mandate. Participants were briefed on the establishment of GNHR, its purpose, and its role in creating a single national household register for social protection programs in Ghana.


The participants were also introduced to the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) program, its purpose, and its significance in Ghana’s social protection strategy. The Proxy Means Test (PMT) was explained, including its objectives, such as generating data on household welfare for the Common Targeting Mechanism and LEAP reassessment.


The training also covered the roles and responsibilities of enumerators, including understanding and following instructions, registering and guiding respondents, and obtaining high-quality data. The participants learned about the rules of engagement, dress code, and enumeration process.
Additionally, the participants were taught about the GNHR questionnaire, including general instructions, consent statements, and terminologies used during the enumeration exercise. The training also included an overview of the GNHR app, questionnaire sections, and data entry processes, including date of birth, marital status, nationality, and housing characteristics.
